Programs
This program supports landowners installing
best management practices (BMP's) or conservation practices on their property to solve specific natural resource
issues (such as erosion, weed control, over-grazing, etc.). Landowners who have gone through the conservation
planning process with Marion SWCD are encouraged to apply.
The Special Grant Program financially
assist landowners in developing innovative and sustainable conservation projects and speeds the
development and availability of new and effective conservation practices in the District. The SPG
program seeks those conservation practices that represent a cutting edge conservation practice that
is currently under represented in Marion County.
The Manure Exchange
Program pairs gardeners and landowners searching for local sources of free, organic
fertilizer, with livestock owners and managers that have excess fresh and composted
manure. The goal of the program is to help farmers who don't have the land available
to utilize the nutrients dispose of their manure.
The small grant program was
developed to support the implementation of the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds
by funding projects designed to improve water quality, water quantity, and fish and
wildlife habitat. This program funds on-the-ground watershed restoration and enhancement
projects on forest, agricultural, range, urban, and rural residential lands.
In addition to the programs that the
SWCD offers there are a number of programs provided by other agencies. Here you can find information on the programs that are offered
by the Natural Resources Conservation Services and the Farm Service Agency. The Marion SWCD can assist landowners in
identifying and acquiring these additional grants.
