The Marion SWCD offers many education and outreach programs. We also provide links to great workshops outside of the District. Our clients include urban and rural residents of the District, property owners, students, teachers, farmers, and natural resources agency staff. Workshops and outreach events are based on the current season and/or local concerns. Throughout the year, we also partner with other local agencies and groups to offer programs that meet the needs of our constituents. Our main education and outreach programs are listed along the left side of the page under the "Education" heading. Here is an overview of our annual education event calendar:

January - We coordinate a Native Plant Workshop held prior to Native Plant Sale in March.

March - May - We coordinate a Conservation Poster Contest for elementary school students.

April - We host information booths at the Oregon Ag Fest, and at Earth Day at the Oregon Garden.

May - We coordinate Envirothon, the statewide natural resources competition for high school students, and we assist with Down by the Riverside, an education event for local elementary students.

July - We host an information booth & display Conservation Posters for judging at the Marion County Fair. We also bring the Oregon State Envirothon Champions to the Canon Envirothon, the North American natural resources competition for high school students.

August - We provide conservation presentations at the Oregon State Fair
Fall/Winter - We host local workshops, tours, and lectures
