The Marion Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) encompasses the majority of Marion County, Oregon. The district lies in the northern portion of the Willamette River basin, which is located in northwestern Oregon. Comprising the western half of the district is the fertile Willamette Valley, while the eastern portion contains rolling foothills and the forested Cascade Mountains. The district office is located in Salem, which is the largest city in the county and also the state capital.
