SUMMARY:Conservation Spotlight: Christmas Tree Farming with Casey Grogan of Silver Bells Tree Farm
DESCRIPTION:The Conservation Spotlight is a radio segment shining light on partnerships and programs for natural resources that airs on the third Wednesday of every month at 8 am and 6 pm as part of the weekly Willamette Wake Up radio program on KMUZ 100.7 and 88.5 FM. Marion SWCD shares the Spotlight with Polk SWCD and OSU Extension Service Small Farms Program. \nTune in to learn about the current state of Christmas tree farming in the mid-Willamette Valley with Silver Bells owner and manager Casey Grogan. We’ll discuss how Christmas tree farming is adapting to extreme weather events and the reasons why a natural tree is still a more eco-friendly choice than an artificial tree.
