SUMMARY:Native Wildflower Seed Packaging Volunteer Event 
DESCRIPTION:Join Marion Soil and Water Conservation District for a hands-on volunteer event helping package native wildflower seeds for free community giveaways! \n\n\nVolunteers will help prepare packets of Willamette Valley Native Annual Wildflower Mix seeds\, produced by Heritage Seedlings\, that will be shared with community members to support native plants\, pollinators\, birds\, and healthy habitats throughout Marion County. \n\n\nNo experience is needed—just bring your willingness to help! Volunteers will learn more about the importance of native plants and have the opportunity to take home native seeds as a thank-you for participating. \n\n\nThe wildflower mix includes a variety of native annual species that provide nectar and pollen for native bees\, butterflies\, beetles\, flies\, and other beneficial insects; several species also support birds and wildlife. Many of these flower’s bloom from late spring through summer and are well suited for sunny landscapes. \n\n\nNative Wildflower Seed Mix Includes: \n\n\nMenzies’ fiddleneck (Amsinckia menziesii)\nFarewell-to-spring (Clarkia amoena)\nFour-spot (Clarkia purpurea)\nLarge-flowered collomia (Collomia grandiflora)\nDense-flower spike-primrose (Epilobium densiflorum)\nBluehead gilia (Gilia capitata)\nShowy tarweed (Madia elegans)\nSlender tarweed (Madia exigua)\nPopcorn flower (Plagiobothrys figuratus)\n\n\nPlease RSVP to help us plan for supplies and materials. \n\n\nIf you have questions about this event or if you need special accommodations to participate\, please contact Kassi Roosth\, Environmental Education Specialist\, at kassi.roosth@marionswcd.net or 971.382.2000.
