SUMMARY:First Friday: Responsible Pesticide Use
DESCRIPTION:Join Cesar Zamora\, soil scientist and Agriculture Conservation Planner for the Marion SWCD\, as he gives a crash course on at home pesticide spraying. You will learn all about the various resources available to help you make informed decisions regarding your pest management strategies and the considerations you should have in mind when you plan to tackle a garden garden/yard pest. This webinar will guide you through the before\, during\, and after of at home pesticide control with a real-world example to tie it all together. \nAs part of his work with Marion SWCD\, Cesar used to facilitate the Pudding River Pesticide Stewardship Partnership (PRPSP) program for ODA. The Pesticide Stewardship Partnership is a statewide program that aims to limit offsite pesticide movements through water quality monitoring and meaningful local specific outreach. The PRPSP was recently handed over to the Pudding River Watershed Council this past July. \nCesar moved to Oregon in 2014 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Microbiology at Oregon State University. After working for the USDA he earned his Master’s degree in Soil Science. During this time\, he quickly fell in love with Oregon\, particularly the Willamette valley\, and decided to make this place his home. His love for conservation stems from his appreciation of the outdoors\, and the joy outside recreation provides. \nYou can watch now on YouTube\nAmy Zimmer (503.949.4709).
