Basic Information Collected
When you visit the Marion SWCD website, we automatically collect and store the Internet Protocol (IP) Address and the domain name used.
The IP Address is a numerical identifier assigned to either your Internet service provider or directly to your computer. Our server will record the IP Address when you access our website.
We use the IP Address for the purposes of system administration, web tracking information and for personalization which includes; the type of browser and operating system a visitor uses, the date and time of the visit and the web pages or services accessed on the site.
This information is used to improve the visitor’s experience. We seek to insure that the content and delivery of our services meets the needs of our users. By collecting this information we are able understand how people are using District services when they access our site.
We then use website logs created from this information to improve the content and services available on the site and increase functionality.
We have no applications that link personal information with IP address and we make no attempt to link the website logs with individuals who browse the District’s site.
Our use of your information
The information collected about you will not be used by any other government agency or company. The District will not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. Its sole use is for customer databases and billing information. The information will only be used in Marion SWCD official business.
E-mail and Surveys
If during your visit to a Marion SWCD web site you participate in a survey or send an e-mail, the following additional information will be collected:
- The e-mail address and contents of the e-mail; and,
- Information volunteered in response to a survey.
We may use your e-mail to respond to you, to address issues you identify, to further improve the web site, or to forward the e-mail to another agency or person for appropriate action. Information collected in a survey is used for the purpose designated. E-mails and survey responses are public records.
