April 17, 2024 – Conservation Spotlight – Stacy Teller and Kassi Roosth – City Nature Challenge
On this episode, Morgan Neil (Polk SWCD) talks with Stacy Teller with the City of Salem, and Kassi Roosth, Urban Areas Conservation Planner with the Marion Soil and Water Conservation District. They have both been instrumental in bringing the City Nature Challenge to Salem. This four-day, worldwide challenge is an opportunity for community members to go out and make observations of wild plants and animals using the iNaturalist app. These observations go into a database used by scientists to further their knowledge and research on biodiversity. Listen in to learn how you can be a community scientist by participating in this challenge!
The Conservation Spotlight is a radio segment shining light on partnerships and programs for natural resources that airs on the third Wednesday of every month at 8 am as part of the weekly Willamette Wake Up radio program on KMUZ 100.7 and 88.5 FM. Marion SWCD shares the Spotlight with Polk SWCD.
