Grow Your New Years Goals: Winter Native Bare-Root Plant Sale
Marion Soil & Water Conservation District’s Winter Native Bare-Root Plant Sale opens online November 2, 2026, with orders accepted through December 31, 2026.
Whether you’re planning a habitat restoration project, adding shade trees, supporting pollinators, or making your backyard a little wilder, native trees and shrubs are a great place to start. Explore a variety of native plants to help your landscape thrive and support local wildlife.
Why plant bare-root natives in winter?
Winter’s cool temperatures and moist soil create favorable conditions for roots to begin establishing before the growing season. Planting during dormancy gives trees and shrubs a head start as they prepare for spring growth and the drier months ahead.
