Interested in Helping Shape Conservation in Marion County?
Several Marion Soil & Water Conservation District Board positions are open to qualified write-in candidates for the November 3, 2026 General Election.
Serving on the Marion SWCD Board is an opportunity to bring your perspective and experience to local conservation and help guide the work of your Soil & Water Conservation District.
Open positions eligible for Write-In Candidacy: Zones 1, 2, 3, and 5

In a Nutshell: How to Become a Write-In Candidate
Interested? Here’s the process at a glance:
1. Find your zone
Use the SWCD Zone Map to confirm you live in an open zone.
2. Complete the write-in form
Download and complete the Oregon Department of Agriculture’s write-in candidate form.
3. Submit your form by October 20
Your completed form must be submitted to the Oregon Department of Agriculture by 5:00 p.m. on October 20, 2026.
4. Participate in the November 3 election
Once the write-in filing process is complete, your name will be eligible to receive write-in votes for the position. The candidate receiving the most votes for the position is elected.
5. If elected, begin serving in January 2027.
