Conservation Spotlight on the Radio

The Conservation Spotlight is a radio segment shining light on partnerships and programs for natural resources that airs on the third Wednesday of every month at 8 AM as part of the weekly Willamette Wake Up radio program on KMUZ 100.7 and 88.5 FM. Marion SWCD shares the Spotlight with Polk SWCD.

On this episode of Conservation Spotlight, we talk with Lua Siegel, School Garden Program Coordinator and Gardening Instructor for Luckiamute Valley Charter Schools, about the school’s thriving garden program and its role in connecting students with nature. Lua shares how hands-on experiences in the garden teach students about food systems, ecology, and stewardship while building confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for the environment.
