
Salmon Watch Field Trip

This field trip is with Stayton High School.
Salmon Watch is a place-based, experiential field trip that introduces students to local watersheds and the salmon that inhabit them. The field trip takes about 4 hours; start and end times listed are approximate. You will receive more exact times as the field trips draw closer.
Volunteers teach one of four lessons on field trips.
- Salmon Biology: salmon life cycle, dissection, and cultural importance
- Macroinvertebrates: collection and identification
- Water Quality: dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature, and turbidity
- Riparian ecology: riparian functions (habitat, erosion control, shade, and water storage & filtration)
