Eleocharis palustris
Creeping spikerush is a great plant for rain gardens, swales, wetlands, ponds, and stream edges. It spreads easily via rhizomes, forming dense patches of bright green spikes which stay green year-round. Spikes are toped with seed heads, giving a unique matchstick appearance. It prevents erosion and stabilizes soils in wet areas.
