Heuchera micrantha
Crevice alumroot is a perennial herb native to rocky slopes, forest edges, and moist woodlands of the Pacific Coast from California to British Columbia. It forms basal clumps of rounded, often mottled leaves with scalloped edges, and in late spring to summer sends up tall, slender stalks bearing airy sprays of tiny, pinkish to whitish flowers. Well adapted to shaded, rocky habitats, it anchors soils and thrives in crevices where few other plants can persist. Ecologically, crevice alumroot provides nectar for native bees and other small pollinators, while its attractive foliage and delicate blooms make it a valued plant in native gardens and restoration projects.
