Picea sitchensis
Sitka spruce is a large, attractive evergreen conifer that mostly grows near the coast in wet forests, but can be found along some streams and rivers in our area. It prefers damp but well-draining soils and makes a majestic specimen in large landscapes. It grows well with Western red cedar, Western hemlock, and firs.
