Thermopsis gracilis
Slender goldenbanner is a perennial herb native to the Pacific Northwest. It typically grows in open forests, rocky slopes, and grasslands, producing erect, slender stems that reach 1-3 ft in height. Its pinnate leaves are divided into narrow leaflets, and it bears bright yellow, pea-like flowers in loose clusters during late spring to early summer. The plant is adapted to well-drained soils and is an important nitrogen-fixer in its native ecosystems, enriching the soil and supporting surrounding plant communities. Wildlife, including native bees, utilize its flowers as a nectar source.
