Smith’s Fairybells

Disporum smithii

Plant Description

An upright, branching perennial with shiny green leaves and dainty creamy white bell shaped flowers that hang down from underside of stems, followed by orange to red berries. Very similar to Hooker’s fairybells with the distinction of having petals that are more tightly closed than Hooker’s. Goes well with violets and wild ginger, and prefers a moist woodland or shady corner of the yard.
