Conservation Spotlight on the Radio

The Conservation Spotlight is a radio segment shining light on partnerships and programs for natural resources that airs on the third Wednesday of every month at 8 AM as part of the weekly Willamette Wake Up radio program on KMUZ 100.7 and 88.5 FM. Marion SWCD shares the Spotlight with Polk SWCD.

On this episode of Conservation Spotlight, we welcome Milan Davis, Urban Forester with the City of Salem, to discuss the city’s proactive management of urban ash trees in the face of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The City of Salem has not yet had a confirmed presence of EAB but is within 25 miles of the known infestation area, and so preparing for the arrival of this invasive and extremely destructive forest pest is crucial. Join us to hear the strategies, partnerships, and work already being done to protect our valuable urban trees from EAB.
