Discover how healthy soils and healthy businesses can go hand-in-hand at this workshop for farmers and ranchers. Participants will learn practical approaches to soil health and how conserving natural resources can support the resilience, profitability, and long-term viability of agricultural operations.

The workshop will include a combination of presentations, hands-on learning, and opportunities to hear from agricultural and conservation organizations.

Topics and speakers include:

• What Is Soil & How It Works — Dr. James Cassidy, Oregon State University
• Hands-On Soil Lab — including a take-home soil test kit
• Organizational Updates — Marion SWCD, OrCAN, OSU Small Farms & Dry Farming Institute
• Economic Benefits of Conservation — Nellie McAdams, Oregon Agricultural Trust
• Sustainability Certifications — Oregon Tilth, Salmon Safe & Oregon Pasture Network
• Marketing Conservation Labeling — Hannah Christopherson, The Goat Marketing

The $50 registration fee includes the hands-on soil lab and a take-home soil test kit.
