Potentilla gracilis
Slender cinquefoil is a perennial herb native to western North America, commonly found in meadows, open forests, and along streambanks. It produces delicate, five-petaled yellow flowers in late spring to summer, atop slender stems arising from a basal rosette of compound, toothed leaves. The plant thrives in well-drained soils with full to partial sunlight and plays an important role in supporting native pollinators, including bees and butterflies. Slender cinquefoil also contributes to soil stabilization on slopes and open sites, making it an ecologically valuable component of meadow and forest-edge plant communities.
