Virtual Event

Board of Directors Information Session

June 9 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Virtual Event

Clover with bumble bee. Have you ever considered serving your community through local conservation leadership?

Join Marion Soil and Water Conservation District for a virtual, Board of Directors Information Session to learn about the role of Soil and Water Conservation District board members, the upcoming election process, and what it means to serve as a local conservation leader. Hear first-hand from current board members, who will provide an overview of board responsibilities, candidate requirements, and the time commitment involved, with opportunities to ask questions and learn more about the district’s work.

The Marion SWCD Board of Directors is made up of seven elected volunteers who help guide the district’s conservation programs and priorities. Five board positions will be up for election in 2026, making this a great opportunity to learn how you can get involved.

Serving on the Board offers the chance to support local conservation efforts, gain leadership and governance experience, collaborate with community members and natural resource professionals, and help ensure District programs reflect the diverse needs and perspectives of Marion County residents. Individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets are encouraged to learn more.

Whether you’re interested in running for a position or simply want to better understand the role of the Board, we encourage you to attend.

Registration is required to participate.
