Conservation Club: Recology Organics Compost Facility Tour
June 11 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
FreeReserve Your Spot — Space is Limited to 20 Participants
Join Marion Soil and Water Conservation District and Recology Organics for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Recology Organics Compost Facility. This small-group tour will give attendees the opportunity to learn how compost is produced using aerated static pile systems and to see the composting process in action.
The tour will be led by Tim Rice from Recology Organics, who will guide participants through the facility and explain how organic materials, including yard waste, are processed into compost. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions throughout the tour.
At the end of the event, participants will have the opportunity to take home up to a 5-gallon bucket of compost. Please bring your own bucket if you would like to participate.
Due to limited parking at the facility, attendees should expect to carpool from Porter Boone Park to the compost facility. Restrooms are available at both Porter Boone Park and the compost facility.
Space is limited to 20 participants, please RSVP to reserve your spot!
