Foamflower

Foamflower is a shade-loving perennial native to moist forests of western North America. It forms low, spreading clumps with distinctive trifoliate leaves that often have subtle lobes or serrations. In spring, it produces airy spikes of small, star-shaped white to pale pink flowers that give the plant its “foamflower” name. Thriving in rich, well-drained soils under canopy cover, Tiarella trifoliata provides early-season nectar for native bees and other pollinators. Its attractive foliage and delicate flowers make it a valuable component of woodland understory plantings and native garden designs.
