Perideridea oregana
Oregon yampah is a perennial herb in the carrot family native to moist meadows, grasslands, and open woodlands of the Pacific Northwest. It grows from slender edible tuberous roots and produces upright, branched stems 1–3 feet tall, topped with umbels of small white flowers in summer that resemble those of Queen Anne’s lace. The foliage is finely divided and feathery, giving the plant a delicate appearance. Ecologically, yampah provides nectar and pollen for a variety of insects, including native bees and flies, while its roots are an important traditional food source for native people.
