Join Travis Brown, hydrogeologist with the Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD), for an overview of groundwater resources in Marion County. This presentation will explore the different types of aquifers found across the county, how groundwater is managed at the state and county levels, general groundwater level trends, and areas of concern.
Join Marion SWCD’s Kassi Roosth and Kristen McAlpine as they celebrate three years of the Little Habitat Project and explore how you can create your own Little Habitat. Learn how to incorporate conservation practices where you live and what makes a space valuable for pollinators and wildlife. Kassi and Kristen will share an overview of the program and certification process, along with practical ideas and photo examples from Little Habitats throughout Marion County. The Little Habitat Project is an initiative of Marion SWCD that promotes conservation practices that improve soil health, protect water quality, support pollinators, and create healthier, more connected landscapes.
